Writing/Editing

Kids Media's writers and editors use simple yet effective language to produce material that is easy to understand and that conveys educational concepts in a fun, appealing and reader-friendly manner.

Graphic Design

Kids Media's in-depth understanding of classroom dynamics, student learning levels and the challenges faced by teachers on a daily basis, allows us to design educational materials that are not only practical for teachers to integrate into classroom activities, but are also stimulating and age-appropriate for students.

Illustration

Kids Media can develop illustrations in a wide range of artwork types, styles and formats across both print and electronic media, including:

  • simple line drawings

  • unique character development
  • realistic and semi-realistic illustrations (including 3-D rendering)

Animation

Kids Media utilises state-of-the-art technology to develop both 2-D and 3-D animations suitable for web deployment or multimedia use.

Print Management

Kids Media can manage the complete print media development cycle, including commercial printing and delivery of the final product. This service includes obtaining competitive quotations, liaising with commercial printers, providing proofs for client sign-off, and undertaking quality assurance press checks.

IWB Compatible Multimedia Development

Kids Media develops educational games and interactives (including learning objects) for deployment on client websites, or distribution on personal digital media (CD, DVD, memory stick etc.).

In consultation with classroom teachers, Kids Media has developed guidelines for the creation of education resources for IWB use in classrooms. All multimedia resources (including websites) are proven on our in-house IWB for best compatibility and ease of use.

These electronic activities can be designed to complement existing printed resources and to provide an engaging interactive component for students of all ages.

Website Development

Kids Media develops fun, educational websites that encourage teachers and students to become excited about online learning.

Our design process combines aesthetics and functionality to provide maximum appeal and usability for both teachers and students. Intuitive navigation, ease of access to information, cross browser and platform compatibility, and site maintainability are key considerations.

Where appropriate, W3C Content Accessibility Guidelines are adhered to, and when web pages are incorporated into an existing client website, design conventions and site-specific standards are maintained to ensure compatibility and ease of integration.

School Competitions

Kids Media offers a schools competition service for students of all ages, including:

  • creation of competition concept
  • writing and designing competition material (including entry form)
  • arranging the printing, packaging and mailing to schools of competition material
  • receipt and processing of competition entries from schools (including the data entry of school details, if required)
  • short-listing of students' entries by qualified teachers for final judging by the client.

Kids Media uses Australia Post to distribute materials to schools.
